What’s the difference between drapery and curtains
What’s the difference between drapery and curtains. We know what you mean by the terms, they can be used interchangeably, however….
Generally curtains refer to a lighter window covering, perhaps something you would purchase from a store that is ready-made and not lined in the back. Curtains can also refer to something shorter that would just diffuse the light coming in from the window.
Drapery however, refers to a heavier panel that is most often lined with a lighter fabric that allows for optimal sun blockage. Drapery panels tend to be longer and can provide more privacy for your window. You will often hear the term, “custom drapery” as opposed to “custom curtains”.
If you call them curtains, we still know what you mean!
